Level 3

  • Description: Perform Direct supervision of a group of purchasers. Conduct all aspects of purchasing for a project. May Technically assist less experienced purchasing personnel. Shall report to Level 4.
  • Qualifications: Bachelors and/or 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Typical Titles: Assistant Procurement Manager; Assistant Category Manager

Must have and be able to obtain a technical and construction language to communicate about the equipment and materials we purchase as it relates to our construction projects.

Must be capable and experienced in the use of the most recent versions of Microsoft Office. Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, software and e-mail.

Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, CMIC, Building Connected, or Bluebeam, a plus, but not required.

The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills, highly organized, work well with others and enjoy growing their skills and abilities within the department.

Must be physically present in the Lexington office, but a hybrid schedule or remote work could be an option.

Qualifications



What we expect… (Essential Functions)

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with the Design and Project Management teams on all aspects of procurement scope.
  • Supports a project team to fulfill Gray’s procurement responsibilities on specific projects.
  • Implement and execute best practices in procurement.
  • Solicits and reviews vendor proposals as it relates to specifications, payment terms, warranty, services, and price.
  • Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing and make recommendation for suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors and establish master purchase order agreements with preferred vendors.
  • Manage risk relating to cost, guarantees, warranty and supply of purchases.
  • Work with Contracts Manager to establish and implement purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Evaluate contracts to ensure compliance with commercial requirements and organizational policies; payment terms, warranty, etc.
  • Review purchase orders for proper authorization and compliance with organizational policy and procedures.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Follow procurement policies to ensure all equipment is purchased and delivered within budget, time constraints and monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Continuous improvement of purchasing processes and policies to accommodate changing organizational needs and market conditions.
