JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Platform Development Director

Purpose of the Job

Lead the Platform Engineering Group Leaders

Support the KB Signaling R&D Platform. Engineering groups include Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Product Design and Product V&V.

Performance Measurement

• Adherence to Delivery Plan & Quality, Cost, Delivery commitment
• Engineering group indicators

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Quality, Cost, Delivery execution of all Platform developments assigned to the KB Signaling Development Center
• Manage and develop System/Product Engineering Group Leaders (competitiveness, Process and tools)
• Ensure that quality of service delivered by Development Center Engineering is appropriate
• Ensure coordination with Program Management Team
• Manage the core/non-core definition for the Development Center, associated with the choice of subcontractors (liaising with relevant stakeholders: Sourcing, Design Authorities, Solution Directors, Strategy as appropriate)
• Develop and execute competitiveness plans for the Development Center in coordination with the Platform Product Management Team
• Ensure that Products & Systems of Development Center are sustained (Life Cycle Management)
• Validate Platform Development quotations for R&D, gaps and support to projects

Qualifications

• 10 or more years in Railway Business, especially Signaling domain
• Bachelor’s degree required and/or advanced degree preferred
• Outstanding problem solving and analytical interest and proven skills in leveraging data (from self and others) for imperatives
• Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
• Ability to make sound decisions
