Position Summary

The Onsite Support Technician - Level 1 works closely with their manager, internal Avidex teams, manufacturers, and customers to support, operate, and maintain audiovisual (AV) and IT systems at client locations. A solid background in audio, video, and control systems, along with a strong understanding of computers and networking, is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, punctuality, effective communication skills, and the technical expertise required to support and maintain complex AV systems.


Requirements

  • High School or GED diploma
  • The physical demands of the job require the ability to lift 30-40 pounds
  • Should possess a mechanical ability to use tools like screwdrivers and drills
  • Must be patient and an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, to work with non-technical people
  • Must also be comfortable working independently and maintain a professional appearance because you'll be working at a client site, Mount Sinai Hospital
  • This is a Regular Part-Time role so there is a normal schedule but may require some flexibility to occasional changes in the schedule with short notice, including holidays and weekends.
  • Should be organized, proactive, and a good problem-solver with a "Can Do” attitude who can manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Must be bondable, highly trustworthy and dependable, have proven detail skills and superior work habits
  • Must be available to work 8AM-8PM Thursdays to Sunday including holidays


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive AV support for meetings and conferences, including setup, operation, and teardown of audiovisual equipment.
  • Coordinate AV resources to meet the needs of client meetings and events, from large-scale conferences to last-minute requests.
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, testing, repairs, and adjustments for integrated AV/IT systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with control systems, including remote support when necessary.
  • Deliver detailed written documentation regarding system repairs and troubleshooting outcomes.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with relevant staff to review open service tickets, client requests, and support histories.
  • Ensure workspaces are clean, organized, and comply with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reports, including support logs, timesheets, expense reports, and parts inventories.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines and company policies.
