Job Description:

*This role is eligible to be performed remotely, however, if you reside within 60 miles of Lands’ End’s offices in Dodgeville, WI or New York, NY, you will be expected to collaborate onsite in a hybrid fashion for up to 12 days per month.

    Our internship program is designed with future leaders in mind and serves as a pipeline for top talent. Participants in our program receive one-on-one mentorship and training while working alongside cross-functional teams to complete initiatives that are key to our business success. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, Azure Role Based Access Control Automation, Warehouse Management Systems, SAP and HRS, among others. You will contribute to meaningful projects and expand your professional network in a growing retail organization that continues to invest in our technology stack.     Duties and Responsibilities: You will work closely with the Enterprise Integration team to support the design, development, and deployment of serverless solutions that integrate various applications and systems. Specific duties include:



    • Assisting in Application Integration: Help in designing and developing integrations between different AWS services (such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, etc.) to create scalable, serverless workflows.

    • Automation of Tasks: Support the team in automating repetitive operational tasks using AWS technologies and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like AWS CDK or Terraform.

    • Monitoring and Maintenance: Assist in setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting for serverless applications using AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and other observability tools like Dynatrace & Grafana.

    • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Collaborate in debugging and resolving issues in AWS environments, including working with Lambda execution errors, IAM permission issues, or failed API Gateway integrations.

    • Data Pipelines & Storage: Work on integrating data pipelines using AWS services like S3, SQS, and Lambda to process real-time data streams and/or handle ETL operations.

    • Documentation & Process Improvement: Participate in improving system documentation, writing technical guides, and suggesting ways to improve existing workflows for better performance or reliability.

    • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, such as product management, DevOps, and other development teams, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.


    Skills we are looking for:



    • Academic Requirements: Enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, preferably graduating within the next year (exception candidates who are "junior" undergrads will also be considered).

    • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies: Basic understanding and keen interest of cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Knowledge of any AWS services like Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and DynamoDB is a plus.

    • Technical acumen in digital automation is a plus.

    • Basic understanding and keen interest in digital automation tools. Basic understanding and keen interest in digital automation tools. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS and Inventory Management is a plus.

    • Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript (Node.js), or Java. Experience with building APIs or writing serverless functions will be advantageous.

    • Problem-Solving Ability/Resourcefulness: Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and propose effective solutions.

    • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to team goals.

    • Eagerness to Learn: A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, tools, and best practices in cloud computing.

    • *Bonus Skills: Knowledge of DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, monitoring), Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK), and any prior exposure to serverless frameworks would be an advantage.

    • *Location: Remote work is acceptable.

    Additional projects/roles might include:



    • Gather inputs from business stakeholders across various business units regarding their key metrics and KPIs essential for strategic decision-making.

    • Aid in grasping the necessary level of detail required for these primary KPIs/metrics.

    • Identify existing challenges concerning data access, preparation, BI/Visualization, and analytics/insights.

    • Analyze the gathered information to identify overarching themes, assisting us in refining the BI roadmap.

    • Work on various POCs to showcase the optimal utilization of a BI tool, demonstrating the gold standard in action
