The Bank is recruiting for a Police Sergeant who is an experienced leader, professional, courteous, and conducts themselves with high integrity to join this important team.


  • Responsibilities:



    • Performs full law enforcement duties pursuant to Section 11 (q) of the Federal Reserve Act (12 U..S..C.. 248) (q).

    • Through rotating post assignments, foot, and mobile patrols as a driver or passenger, is responsible for the protection of personnel, facilities, assets, and property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of the Bank.

    • Closely inspects credentials and identification of employees and visitors and ensures that only authorized personnel and vehicles are permitted access to the facility.

    • Uses electronic metal detectors and x-ray machines in the physical search of persons, packages, briefcases, luggage, etc.. entering the building, being especially alert for weapons, explosive devices and other prohibited items.

    • Programs and maintains data in the access control system.

    • Enforces federal and state law and the administrative rules and regulations of the Bank.

    • Make apprehensions when required, participates in subsequent court or administrative processes.

    • Interacts with employees and the public in a professional, courteous and tactful manner.

    • Monitors security systems and devices to detect the planning or preparation of acts that may threaten the safety or security of the Bank and its contents, and employees and visitors and their personal property.

    • Conducts investigations and takes reports/complaints.

    • Prepares and submits required reports consistent with Division policy.

    • Reviews reports submitted by officers to verify completeness and the meeting of prescribed standards; makes recommendations and suggestions for correction and improvement.

    • Maintains detailed and accurate records for files, follow-up investigations, and court purposes.

    • Takes command at crime scenes or accidents and administers first aid as necessary.

    • Supervises and coordinates the activities of officers, Provides leadership, mentoring, and work direction to officers.

    • Assumes full charge of assigned shift and/or functional area in absence of Lieutenant.

    • Coaches and develops staff by communicating performance expectations, providing ongoing performance feedback, and conducting performance reviews.

    • Ensures training and development plans and programs are implemented that address individual and team needs.

    • With some assistance/guidance from department management, documents and discusses recommendations for employee recognition, hiring, salary, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.

    • Maintains continuity and effectiveness of operations by managing the Control Center; provides leadership and guidance to assigned staff concerning procedural and policy matters; initiates appropriate law enforcement response to emergency and non-emergency calls.

    •  Performs administrative tasks by reviewing and approving time sheets, offense/incident reports, overtime, vacation requests, scheduling, duty rosters, and other paperwork.

    • Remains compliant with all FRS and Bank training requirements and obtains or maintains Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer certification.

    •  Performs other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:



    • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field preferred.

    • Three years of relevant military, law enforcement or armed security experience with two years of full-time experience as a sworn law enforcement officer.

    • Preferred FRLEO II

    • Valid driver's license.

    • Must be able to lift/carry 75 pounds; must be able drag 150 pounds.


    * Salary range is $64,100-$80,146-$96,200. Salary offer will be based on qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity
