SUMMARY: In a support role, provides services in the areas of reception, customer greeting, outreach, orientation, resource room usage (including documentation and data entry), supplies and equipment maintenance, and assists SCM/PC with coordination of office staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Answers phones, greets customers; ensures customer sign-in, data entry and surveys, as necessary; conducts orientation, and screens customers for initial eligibility; schedules appointments.
Assists customers in use of resource room equipment, software, forms & supplies to conduct job search or educational activities; Monitors customers' use for appropriateness; addresses & reports violations, as necessary.
Daily: ensures all service center and resource room equipment is fully stocked with paper & toner; monitors operation of equipment and clears errors, jams, and schedules repair or maintenance, as necessary.
Maintains an awareness of Proteus and Community resources, makes appropriate referrals; provides outreach and recruitment for programs, services and activities, as directed.
Completes routine building maintenance, safety, and fire equipment checks & reports; attends related meetings, as directed.
Monitors use of In/Out board by office staff, reports irregularities to SCM/PC; assists in supervision of volunteers, interns, Work Experience participants or partner staff, as directed.
Maintains supply room in an orderly fashion; orders supplies and janitorial service through Distribution Center or vendors, as appropriate; enters these and other PRs, as directed.
Maintains community service bulletin boards/displays and EEO, other legally required or Proteus policy postings in an orderly and temporally relevant fashion.
Completes documentation as required for office, divisional, operational, fiscal, or human resources department purposes.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent and certificate of completion from a college or technical school; or six months of directly-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and

maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, California driver's license, and minimum auto insurance as required by law.
