Indirect Supervisor:Sanitation Lead/s
Job Summary: The Porter role is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the facility in a thorough and efficient manner, adhering to the proper sanitation procedures, guidelines, and safety measures. The Porter must understand cleaning procedures and exhibit the proper and safe use of all sanitation chemicals and resources per regulatory regulations.
Education & Experience:
Grade School Level; High School Diploma or GED a plus1- 2-years experience working in food manufacturing or similar industries.1-2 years experience in janitorial/sanitation procedures with food manufacturing equipment or similar experience.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Must have proficient communications skills both verbal and written.Must have proficient math skills.Must have proficient analytical skills.Must have proficient problem-solving skills.Must be an excellent team player.Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with little or no supervision.Must be able to work most of the time with water and chemicals.Must be able to work in a safe manner while maximizing productivity and efficiency.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to perform work while standing during prolonged periods.Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, reach, grasp and work in adverse and awkward positions.Ability to drive a forklift/industrial equipment is required.Must be reliable, punctual and have schedule flexibility including working weekends, Holidays, and off-shifts as needed.Must be able to comply with company attendance and punctuality policy.Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.Must adhere to a drug and alcohol zero tolerance policy.Must be able to comply with and follow all food safety, and third-party certification policies (SQF, Gluten-Free and Organic, ).

General Job responsibilities Orientation and on the jobJob Description ReviewComplete an oral exam that covers the different types of chemicals that are used in the sanitation department.Process and procedures of cleaning and sanitation.Written reports completed during shift.Environmental Information and Recycling.Food Safety Practices & Policies (e.g., HACCP, Food Safety, GMPs, Food Fraud/Defense, Allergens, Organic, Gluten Free)Injury & Illness Prevention Program. Will receive general training and orientation that may include:

Company rules and regulations.Plant Safety and Emergency ProceduresOSHA Required Safety ProgramsLOTO Lock Out/Tag-Out ProgramHazard Communication and Safe Chemical Handling

Essential Functions/ Duties and Responsibilities:
Always performs tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards.Must know the type of chemical that is used for each specific task when cleaning. All chemicals must be properly identified.Must be able to use an air nozzle, but only in certain areas and for a short period of time. While using an air nozzle, must use proper PPE safety glasses and ear protection must be utilized.Must be able to use a water nozzle, but only in certain areas and for a short period of time. While using water nozzle, must use proper PPE must be utilized.Must have the responsibility to put all the equipment that was cleaned in the place where it corresponds and to not leave it in areas where it does not belong.On occasions you can be asked to clean some equipment at management discretion.(PPE) Personal Protective Equipment: Must ensure to properly use Personal Protective Equipment at all times such as safety glasses, hairnets, an apron, and boots (use boots whenever working in the washroom).Report to management any safety hazard, such as any open electrical box, any loose cable or wires on any machine or anything that can cause a serious accident.Must be able to operate the trash and recycling machines. Always let the supervisor know whenever they have reached their maximum capacity.Must keep all restrooms clean according to cleaning timeline.Must supply hand soap, hand sanitizer, paper towel, etc. always.Must keep office areas clean at all time.Must keep track of supplies and submit order form when needed.Must keep the outside of company premises clean according to timeline.Must wash towels and/or smocks as needed.Must fill out the House Cleaning / Janitorial Log in daily bases with the ability to keep accurate reports.Other duties as assigned.
