Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Drug Assistance Program Facilitator is a critical role in the Drug Assistance process. This role will serve as liaison between the Patient Financial Advocacy, Precertification, and Pharmacy teams. The incumbent will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate coordination between all parties and aspects of the drug assistance process.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with Patient Financial Advocates to ensure patients who qualify for drug assistance are appropriately identified and documented.Certify initial drug order and documentation are completed by Patient Financial Advocates.Complete accurate and timely ordering of subsequent doses and associated documentation.Communicate with Patient Financial Advocates to obtain updated prescriptions as needed.Assist Patient Financial Advocates in completing new or updated Drug Assistance Program applications when necessary.Align with Chemotherapy Flow Coordinator in following status of Drug Assistance applications, receipt of doses, and ensuring the clinical teams are notified timely of any potential delays in the process.Evaluate patient benefits as treatment progresses to ascertain if Out of Pocket maximums have been met and adjust Drug Assistance accordingly.Notify Pharmacy staff of upcoming shipments related to the Drug Assistance Program.Monitor scheduled deliveries to ensure they are received timely and documented appropriately.Communicate with manufacturers to resolve any shipment concerns.Coordinate with Pharmacy to assure Drug Assistance Program medications are applied to the correct patient, date of service, and location.Ensure any unused doses are returned to manufacturers accurately and timely.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
High school graduate or GED.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Business Experience Minimum of 7 years experience directly related to Oncology/Hematology specialty.In-depth knowledge of CARTI business processes, specifically the Drug Assistance program, including both administrative responsibilities and certain clinical aspects.Specialized Knowledge/Skills Ability to facilitate and execute complex cross functional processes. Exceptional organizational ability. Outstanding communication skills. Proficient with Excel and MS office products.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
