Prepare daily dispatch schedule for drivers and equipment and dispatch a fleet of 15 to 20 vehicles per day. May also seek out and schedule backhauls and provide inbound report receiving.
Build and update inbound and outbound orders in dispatch program.
Respond promptly to driver inquiries regarding, but not limited to, breakdowns, directions, product count discrepancies and monitor drivers' hours to prevent DOT violations.
Adjust delivery and backhaul assignments to accommodate breakdowns, late trucks and other changes.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
What Experience and Education You Need:
At least one year of related work experience dispatching commercial vehicles, preferably Tractor Trailers.
Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) hours of service regulations.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word and McLeod Transportation Management Software highly preferred.
Experience in a supervisory or team management role.
Experience handling high-volume phone calls, multi-tasking, and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals.

Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions.

Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business.
May require a visit to facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Requires the use of various electronic tools.
Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes.
Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management.
