Quality Engineer at Vactor Manufacturing

Job Description:

Key Activities/Responsibilities



  • Assist in the development and improvement of quality processes, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Communicate to Test Department employees on test processes, procedures and work instructions.

  • Implement solutions to quality related issues discovered internally as well as those identified by customers/dealers/sales representatives in the field.

  • Make and/or recommend changes to quality procedures, quality standards, tolerances, and designs.

  • Investigate quality opportunities, recommend solutions, and ensure corrections are implemented.

  • Drive Corrective Actions/CAR process through to completion/implementation.

  • Maintain and improve our quality management system.

  • Work with Engineering to develop and revise methods for testing systems, setting pressures, and programming.

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and at times Suppliers to ensure the best overall resolution to quality related quality issues.

  • Set up, revise, and/or optimize test kitting and the spare parts process and inventory.

  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects that may be required from time to time.


 Education/Skills Required:



  • Associate's Degree Required.  Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Experience in Quality Systems such as ISO 9001 preferred.

  • Experience in working in a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing environment required.

  • Experience with various problem solving techniques preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, assembly, and test principles and methods.

  • Must have good problem solving skills

  • Must be well organized

  • Must have good communication skills

  • Must have experience with implementing process improvements

  • Must have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
