WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Peer Recovery services, which include but are not limited to crisis intervention, community outreach and engagement.
Deliver services utilizing a recovery/person centered philosophy and orientation.
Assist clients/families in articulating personal goals for recovery and determining treatment objectives.
Observe the progress clients and families make toward meeting objectives and provide feedback to client and treatment providers.
Use personal life experiences as a family of a loved one who received services to model recovery and establish trusting relationships with clients.
Assist families of individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance use disorder as well as staff, to identify, understand, and combat stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.
Participate in relevant staff training and daily treatment team meetings.
Coordinate referral and transition for engaged families once stabilization is established (moved from MCTR)
Initiate and record follow-up with individuals/families who have had Crisis Services contact.
Act as lead contact with families in crisis during co-responses
Act as first contact for visitors to the Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Services.
Provide Care Coordination through identification of needs and barriers and assist with accessing resources
WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification as a Certified Peer Support Professional. Must maintain ongoing certification.
Lived experience as family of a loved one in services for mental health or substance use disorders.
Must be at least 21 years of age and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Obtain and maintain verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention training.
