Position Summary:
Arkansas State University is recruiting for an Associate Dean for Student Programs and Admissions for the College of Veterinary Medicine. The College of Veterinary Medicine is intended to open for the Fall 2026 semester. In a state currently without a College of Veterinary Medicine, the A-State project can fulfill the dreams of numerous Arkansans who wish to stay home for their education as well as attract students from out-of-state.
The Associate Dean for Student Programs and Admissions is responsible for managing student programs and admissions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage budget for student programs and admissions
Coordinate recruitment, admission, advancement, and retention of veterinary students
Oversee student clubs and scholarships.
Oversee student events, including orientation, white coat ceremony, graduation, awards banquet, and career fair
Oversee faculty advising and mentoring of students
Develop and administer academic and admissions policies and procedures for the CVM and ensure compliance with University academic and admissions policies and procedures
Oversee course and exam schedule for the DVM program
Manage DVM program support personnel
Contribute to accreditation reports
Provide community outreach regarding student programs and student success
Teach DVM students
Other duties as assigned

General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM)or PhD in a relevant field
Two (2 ) years of academic administrative experience
