The University of Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Department is hiring a Post Doctoral Associate for the Shemesh lab. The position's responsibilities include the following:

• Leading projects on glial cell-targeted gene therapy.

• Leading projects on genetically encoded nanoparticles for cancer photothermal therapy and imaging.

• Presenting findings at conferences.

• Preparing and applying for patents.

• Preparing manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals.

• Collaborating with labs from the Neurobiology department at Pitt, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Children’s Hospital, and Carnegie Mellon University.

A PhD degree in biomedical engineering is required, and 3+ years of experience is required.
