Summary:

This position plays a critical role in providing technical support to producers in the care and management of the company's poultry. The role focuses on ensuring optimal care, comfort, and performance of the birds while maintaining compliance with company standards and government regulations.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter management, and farm sanitation.

  • Conduct regular farm visits to monitor bird comfort, assess flock health, and document equipment settings.

  • Provide guidance on maintaining bird health, including recommending remedies for health issues and monitoring feed consumption.

  • Coordinate the timely placement of chicks on farms, assist with scheduling, and facilitate communication between the hatchery, feed mill, and live haul departments.

  • Ensure compliance with the production contract, working to produce high-quality flocks at the lowest cost while adhering to USDA and other regulatory requirements.

  • Collect and submit blood and fat samples as required.

  • Collaborate with the Broiler and Breeder Departments to manage weekly chick placements and address additional tasks as needed.


Requirements:




  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.


  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in poultry production or a related field.


  • Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in using email, data entry into templates, and performing simple queries.


  • Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year may be required.
