Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will help ensure timely payments from our clients while maintaining strong customer relationships.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and payments.

  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements in line with company policies.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and track payment progress.

  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions with customers.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues with customer accounts.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, including sales and customer service, to resolve billing issues.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of delinquent accounts and collections efforts.

  • Process payments and apply them to customer accounts.

  • Escalate collection issues when necessary to management or legal teams.

  • Stay informed on industry standards and legal guidelines related to collections.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with billing and collection processes.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage a large volume of calls and maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.

  • Knowledge of federal and state debt collection laws (e.g., FDCPA) is a plus.
