The Psychiatric Registration Specialist acts as an on-site point of contact for patients seeing tele-psychiatry providers. This position plays an important role in the continuity of care by rooming patients, taking vital signs, scheduling appointments, coordinating with psychiatry providers, and handling inquiries. This position also helps connect patients with mental health services, helping them find a provider that aligns with their needs and preferences by providing information on services, scheduling intakes, and processing referrals.

Founded in 1991, we offer an intensive outpatient substance use disorder program, psychological testing, and behavioral health and medication management services.

Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay rate:
$16.50 per hour

Job Duties:
1. Room patients and assess applicable vital signs including, but not limited to height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse
2. Ensure seamless coordination of care by scheduling patient appointments and collaborating with providers using multiple computer systems
3. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and telesuite by managing patient paperwork, office supplies, and other amenities
4. Act as the point of contact for all intra-office referrals and inquiries by providing education on all services, intake procedures, and scheduling appointments
5. Register new patients by collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information
6. Answer inbound and make outbound phone calls while responding to inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner, providing accurate information or triaging as appropriate
7. Process internal and external referrals and communicate scheduling outcomes
8. Collaborate with clinical staff regarding patient care issues and scheduling
9. Participate in front office tasks such as checking in patients for appointments, collecting payments, answer inbound and make outbound phone calls, electronic filing, scanning, faxing, mailing
10. Attend mandatory meetings and trainings
11. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
1. Highschool diploma or equivalent
2. Experience working in health care facilities and an interest in behavioral health preferred
3. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
4. Strong attention to detail
5. Positive attitude
6. Proficiency in technology and computer use including Microsoft Office Suite
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
8. Ability to manage stress while navigating difficult situations and escalated patient interactions
9. Keep all business information strictly confidential
10. Commitment to position for minimum of 1 year
