This is a full time, 1.0 FTE position. Shifts will be scheduled Monday -Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This is a hybrid position. When in the office, you will work at 7974 UW Health Ct in Middleton, WI.

We are seeking a Compliance Education Specialist to:


  • Onboard new physicians, advanced practice providers and professional medical coders to provide basic coding, compliance and privacy education.
  • Continuously review and update all onboarding materials to maintain compliance with guidelines/regulations.
  • Attend department, clinic, and faculty meetings as necessary.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and graduate of a Medical Coding Program Required
  • Two (2) years of Coding experience may be considered in lieu of the medical coding program in addition to the experience below.

Work Experience

  • 3 years related coding/auditing experience in a health care setting Required
  • 5 years coding and compliance experience in an academic medical center Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Upon Hire Required or
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Upon Hire Required or
  • Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) Upon Hire Required or
  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) Upon Hire Required or
  • Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) Upon Hire Required
