Job Summary


The Sr. Associate Actuary is responsible for leading the process for inforce asset projections and analyzing over multiple scenarios. The Asset Projection team assists with running asset projection models and owning the model output. This role is responsible for conducting projections, performing analysis, providing insights, and summarizing findings for internal audiences that meet their business needs. Additionally, you will collaborate with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure project progress and continuity. The Sr. Associate Actuary ensures F&G is expected to make informed decisions, optimize financial performance, and align with our long-term vision and goals.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce reports and supporting information for analysis memos and other presentations that articulates findings, insights, commentary, and projections to stakeholders succinctly and ensure transparency and alignment including assessing how changes in assumptions impact asset projections.
  • Prepare data for use in projection models, run or oversee model projections jobs, and manage model output.
  • Ensure guidelines are implemented and compliant for asset projection documents and activities.
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to align efforts and drive successful outcomes.
  • Leverage technology to derive insightful information used for decision making.
  • Provide guidance and informal leadership to Actuarial Techniction, ALM.
  • Oversees and provides information guidance on written documentation and create operational efficiencies.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvements for both process and reporting.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years investment or ALM (Asset and Liability Management) related work.
  • Minimum ASA with progress towards FSA and MAAA preferred.
  • Life insurance knowledge preferred.
  • Strong understanding of asset classes, portfolio management, financial principles, economic trends, economic cycles, interest rates, inflation, investment vehicles, risk-return trade-offs, financial calculations, market dynamics, and liabilities.
  • Experience with financial projection models preferred.

  • Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Strong attention to detail, intuitive and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and displays a high energy level.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to address challenges related to asset evaluation and projections including understanding the overall context and purpose.
  • Expertise and experience of improving processes and utilizing technology to improve efficiency.

Other Requirements

  • Perform other functions, duties, and projects as assigned.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Minimal travel required (less than 10%).
