Associate Director of eLearning Design and Development



We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director of eLearning Design and Development responsible for driving innovation and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of self-paced online curriculum, live webinars, and supporting in-person training. This role requires close collaboration with leadership, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders to ensure the continuous delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of curricula and the learner's journey. The ideal candidate will stay current on trends and recommend improvements aligned with organizational goals and mission.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop curriculum design standards based on proven methodologies, innovative techniques, and emerging technologies to create high-quality learning experiences.

  • Provide expertise in curriculum design and assessment methodologies for adult learners at all educational levels.

  • Ensure an impactful learner journey from start to finish, fostering an environment conducive to learning.

  • Establish and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

  • Collaborate with external vendors to complete multiple projects, ensuring they meet the organization's standards and timelines.

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, to resolve any technical issues affecting curriculum development.

  • Manage the Curriculum Development Department, ensuring courses are delivered on schedule and project milestones are met.

  • Communicate project status regularly with leadership to maintain transparency.

  • Design curriculum for a diverse, multi-lingual audience with flexibility across various platforms and devices, including mobile.

  • Ensure alignment between curriculum and learning objectives while maintaining best practices for adult learning.

  • Stay informed on curriculum trends and make recommendations for improvement based on research.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that products and services meet their needs and expectations.

  • Promote a culture of change, encouraging others to embrace new ideas.

  • Solve complex problems using professional judgment and a systematic approach to evaluate alternate solutions.

  • Identify professional development opportunities for team members to support ongoing growth.

  • Safely archive all project documents upon completion and maintain project confidentiality as needed

  • Proven ability to manage a team developing high-quality curriculum efficiently and accurately.

  • Proficiency in eLearning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

  • Experience managing remote employees across multiple locations and time zones.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set clear objectives and maintain process consistency.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with the Motion Picture and Television Industry and unions is preferred.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI, NFPA, and other safety standards is a plus.


Education/Experience Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a related field preferred.

  • 10+ years of leadership experience managing eLearning/microlearning programs, blended with in-person and webinar formats.

  • 10+ years of experience in training/education and developing adult learning programs, with safety and compliance training experience preferred.

  • A combination of education, training, or relevant work experience may be considered

Pay Salary- $130k-140k
