The Engineer, Reliability for Leica Biosystems will work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams responsible a Digital scanner that is a sophisticated, high-precision, and automated electromechanical instrument for high-resolution scanning of pathological samples.



This position is part of the R&D Engineering located in Vista, CA and will be on-site. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.



You will be a part Hardware Engineering team and report to Sr. Manager, Hardware Engineering responsible for sustainment of our current products, supporting and integrating new designs into a line of digital slide scanners, and knowledge transfer to production and field implementation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



  • Lead Customer complaint triage process, meetings, and audits. Facilitate and own countermeasures, verifications thereof, and action plans.

  • Work closely with product owners, technical leads, architects and product managers to develop improvement projects and new product development input for digital scanners

  • Oversee /approve Field Documentation (FIN, Service Manuals, Installation Guides); Service Bulletin and SU field Communication




The essential requirements of the job include:



  • BS or MS in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Reliability Engineering or equivalent or other equivalent engineering fields or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of experience as an applicable engineer discipline (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Reliability Engineer or equivalent)





It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:



  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated attention to detail, and first-hand experience in audits

  • Medical device regulations with US FDA, IVDR notified bodies, or other regulatory bodies throughout the globe



The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.



This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
