As a Medical Assistant Apprentice, your tasks will include:
Completion of 2000 hours of on-the-job training with the support and guidance of an experienced MA coach (paid)
Completion of 410 hours of supplemental coursework, online coursework (unpaid)
Attend 3 in-person lab days with an expert instructor to practice and demonstrate mastery of hands-on technical skills
Track and report job hours and skills as needed
Learn and demonstrate Certified Medical Assistant basics
Update patient records, prepare for visits, collaborate with providers, educate patients, assist during procedures, manage lab specimens, administer medication, and comply with healthcare regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at the level 10 on the language proficiency scale to receive bilingual differential.
Medical knowledge to understand the theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine
Strong people skills to handle different personalities, backgrounds, and personal situations
Strong multi-tasking ability to handle the variety and pace of work
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR
