Role description:

Serves as a trusted member of the Payroll team, providing local expertise, proactive solutions, and quality support for payroll-related matters. This role will be based in the Highlands Ranch, CO Arcadis office (Hybrid) and will report directly to the Payroll Manager.

Role accountabilities:

Act as a reliable member of the local People Services Team

As a member of the Local People Service team Arcadis North America is looking for a Payroll Associate to supplement our North America payroll team, focusing on U.S. payroll. This position is based out of our Highlands Ranch location. The position can work from home 60-80% of the time but will be required to come into the office for payroll processing days and for items that require immediate processing. This is a good opportunity for an individual that is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and has the desire to work with a growing company and team.

In more detail, the Payroll Associate will:


  • Responsible for service delivery standards, ensuring they are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Works with a team to process bi-weekly payroll in the United States, ensuring all work is accurate and meets deadlines.
  • Serves as point of contact for payroll inquiries and provides resolution in a timely manner.
  • Partners with Project Finance, Accounting Systems, HRIS, People Services, and HR COEs to ensure timely and effective delivery of Payroll.
  • Focuses on ensuring all tasks enhance quality and service.
  • Maintains and updates payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of various payroll data points.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Becomes a subject matter expert in assigned sub-areas in payroll and cross-trains with other team members as a backup.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Shared Responsibilities:

  • Establish trusted relationships with the employees & line managers.
  • Provide front-line advisory on payroll inquiries.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to co-create, develop, and support people solutio ns.

Qualifications & Experience:

The candidate should have an associates degree, or equivalent work experience, and a minimum of two years of payroll experience.


  • Ability to deal with high volume and demanding clients.
  • Ability to multi-task, stay composed, and work effectively toward tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Prior work with ADP Vantage is required.
  • Familiarity with Oracle HCM is a plus.
  • Must be able to work off hours on occasion (evening, weekend, holiday) due to payroll deadlines or if there are challenges submitting payroll.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $47,300-$59,125. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
