WHAT YOU'LL DO


Ascend Learning is hiring for a business intelligence analyst within their healthcare operations center of excellence. The Business Intelligence Analyst role assists organizational decision making by providing and explaining data in an easily consumable format and translates internal and external customers’ business requirements into technical requirements and meaningful solutions.


WHERE YOU’LL WORK


This position will work from our Leawood, KS office location/hybrid. Remote will also be considered.


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME



  • Provide data in an easily consumable format to all levels of the organization to assist in decisions that drive revenue and foster data exploration.

  • Work with internal and external customers to understand business requirements and translate those business requirements into technical requirements for quick, actionable insights.

  • Write queries using SSMS/Snowflake and build reports and dashboards leveraging Tableau Desktop and Server.

  • Communicate with customers, both internal and external, in a professional and timely manner.

  • Help business users understand and make conclusions from data for decision making purposes.

  • Research issues/anomalies with data, systems, and processes.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED


Education & Years of Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.

  • 1-2 years’ experience researching, analyzing, and leveraging data from internal and external resources.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in data analytics or business intelligence preferred.


Key Skills and Abilities/Qualifications



  • 1-2 years’ experience with industry-leading software solutions and concepts (GP, CRM, APIs, ETL, Datamarts, Windows Server, Microsoft Office)

  • 1-2 years’ experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, SSRS, Power BI.

  • 1-2 years’ experience with presenting data in charts, graphs, tables and creating dashboards.

  • Excellent analytic skills, business acumen, oral and written communication skills.

  • Eager to learn self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on independence, quality, accuracy, and aesthetics.
