VAE is working on a project that tackles the problem of managing large-scale IT networks. We are seeking talented and highly motivated developers to join us in bringing this project to a larger audience.

You would be responsible for feature development on the front- and back-end of a web-based product that assists network engineers in managing large-scale networks. Work is conducted in small teams of 3 to 5 people in a process that is similar to Scrum.

Our application is a multi-service .NET Core application (with some TypeScript and Perl components) running on Docker and backed primarily by PostgreSQL that leverages REST APIs RabbitMQ messaging to perform intra- and extra- application communication. The application source is hosted in GitLab, and we use GitLab CI and Git to manage our code contribution workflows.

Things we really need

• C# and .NET (Framework or Core)
• ASP.NET MVC
• Relational databases and querying them from .NET (SqlClient, Dapper, Entity Framework)
• Understanding of RESTful API design
• Experience building and running unit and integration tests
• Experience using distributed source control and relevant workflows
• United States citizenship
• 5-8 years of experience

Things we'd like

• JavaScript/TypeScript
• Angular (the new one, not the old one)
• PostgreSQL or similar relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle)
• Docker and Docker Compose as development tools
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Message queuing
• Working understanding of network concepts
• Advanced knowledge of the .NET runtime (reflection, performance optimization)
• Experience with other programming languages, particularly Perl and PowerShell
