Qualifications



RS&H is currently seeking an environmental consultant to join our team. This position will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote. As part of the infrastructure consulting team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by performing data compilation and analysis, researching, and assisting with report and/or study preparation; adjusting and correlating data; leading research and data collection efforts; writing sections for plans for projects of moderate size and complexity and preparing portions of project documents; serving as a project manager on small stand-alone projects, task leader on larger more complex projects, and/or project manager on on-call task orders; developing client presentation materials, participating in client meetings, and leading the delivery of client presentations; identifying, tracking, and leading small project pursuits and preparing discrete portions of proposals; and participating in industry events. This position will have annual sales goals and client management responsibilities and may also lead a small team of direct reports.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited program and five years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Requires an accredited Bachelor's degree in planning, aviation, environmental science, or related field
  • Understanding of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), federal environmental laws and regulations, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Orders associated with compliance with federal laws and regulations
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in preparing NEPA documentation (Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements) for airport or DOT related improvement projects
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential for use in completing assignments
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS is desired
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and responsive to deadlines
  • Understanding of or strong interest in working in an airport/airfield environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
  • Desired Completed Coursework: ecology, geology, biology, water resources/hydrology, environmental regulation/law/policy, urban and regional planning, noise and air quality analyses, and stakeholder engagement/public outreach
