The Commercial Relationship Supervisor will manage the Commercial Relationship Manager team and will develop collaboration with the various retail channels including Treasury and SEG to drive production. The main focus is originating new commercial and SBA loans in Virginia and Florida and maintaining relationships, while focusing on OOCRE, C&I and SBA Lending. The Commercial Relationship Supervisor will also be responsible for the generation, pre-screening and management for new commercial loans from the team, with objectives related to loan production, portfolio growth, fee income, profitability, credit quality, loan delinquencies, member service, and personnel development.
Responsibilities
Stay abreast & ensure compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with NWFCU and NCUA regulatory standards and policies
Collaborate with other divisions within the credit union
Hires, trains, leads, and evaluates team
Ensure that goals, deadlines, and performance standars are met
Effectively demonstrate the ability to make timely, prudent and in-depth credit evaluations that meet the minimum credit requirements as established in the loan policy manual
Oversee all aspects of the loan origination, pipeline management, prescreening, and application and portfolio management of Commercial and SBA loans
Structure, process and review all loan renewals, extensions, risk rating recommendations, modifications and TDR's
Develop and implement an effective sales calling program targeting industries that fall within the CU risk profile
Meet with existing and perspective members to continuously promote the Northwest brand while identifying cross-selling opportunities and potential referrals to other departments
Target focus for origination is ideally split between OOCRE, C&I Lending and SBA
Work with the VP of Commercial & SBA Lending to discuss pricing recommendations
Review all Credit Memorandum's to include credit analysis and deal recommendation prior to submission of loan approval
Provide quality member service through various communication methods
Performs other related duties as assigned
Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in Commercial or SBA Lending with at least 5 years prior leadership experience
Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal partners, members, service providers and external Center of Influences (COI's)
Strong understanding of SBA guidelines, policies, procedures and eligibility criteria
Ability to generate loans, deposits and fee income with existing and prospective members
Ability to comply with all internal organizational policies and procedures
Knowledge of credit underwriting, cash & accrual accounting procedures, cash flow analytics and loan documentation required
Must possess strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to mediate customer service problems, or credit disputes when they arise
Effective oral & written communication skills
Accuracy & detail oriented
Will require travel to Herndon VA or Florida Market to meet with team members on a quarterly basis
Must be located in Virginia or Florida
Preferred
Formal credit training, i.e. Omega Certification, RMA or equivalent
