RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Cincinnati, OH that is seeking an Advanced FinOps Engineer Level 2 to join their team on a 6-month contract to hire basis. Preference is for someone in or around the Cincinnati area, otherwise, located near a hub (Cincinnati, Chicago, Portland, Charlotte, San Jose, Boca Raton).

Responsibilities:

• Drive cloud cost optimization by implementing frameworks, processes, and solutions across multiple cloud platforms


• Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends, anomalies, and track budget (actuals vs estimates)


• Participate in application/resource review (architectural design) to ensure adherence to cost savings wherever applicable


• Provide expert knowledge on cloud cost optimization strategies (rightsizing, scheduling, decommissioning etc.)


• Lead application teams through cost optimization (Well-Architected Framework)


• Collaborate with Engineering teams to implement solutions


• Support adoption and compliance of cost initiatives across the enterprise


• Maintain several information repositories to include Confluence and SharePoint environments

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ideally, 5-7+ years of experience of general cloud experience, and at least 2 years of cost optimization experience within cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or GCP


• This is a 2-layer role: Needing someone who can come in, evaluate cost of tools (cloud) being used, cut costs or show where cost savings can occur; Then drive cloud cost optimization to the team


• Experience leveraging native and 3rd party cloud cost optimization tools such as Azure/GCP Billing, Cloudability, KubeCost, etc.


• Experience working within an Agile (scrum or kanban preferred) methodology (Jira experience preferred)


• Scripting skills and working experience with Infrastructure as Code


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• A passion for keeping up to date with the latest cloud trends and technologies


• Ability to architect solutions befitting various applications and their needs; This includes public cloud, IaaS, PaaS, and on-premises applications


• Some experience with Cloud Automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools (preferred)


• Some familiarity with deployment/automation/management tools such as Docker, Terraform, K8s, Azure AKS, and Rancher (preferred)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
