RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is looking for a Hybrid Workday Payroll Analyst in Commerce, CA. This person is responsible for handling high-volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. In this role, you will prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the performance of payroll staff processing payroll


• Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential


• Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages


• Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments


• Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures


• Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers


• Reviewing and verifying source documents


• Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll


• Answer questions and requests related to payroll information


• Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data


• Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Management, Business Administration, or another related field highly preferred


• Minimum of 3 years of experience with payroll required


• Previous experience with Workday required


• Previous experience working with CA labor and wage laws


• Prior experience using accounting software


• Strong working knowledge with Advanced Excel Skills, and high level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Power Point, Outlook), and Database Management


• Strong knowledge of California labor and wage laws, federal and state payroll regulations and requirements


• Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen


• Strong ability to maintain accurate data entry


• Strong organizational, analytical skills and ability to interpret data and present to facilitate business decisions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
