Job Summary


The Supply Chain Manager (Columbia Plant) is responsible for executing supply plans and strategies for the assigned plant. Responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control, distribution and shipping of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements. Directs production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts and direction by global supply planning. Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines. This position contributes to strategic supply chain continuous improvement.

  • Leads and mentors materials management organization within the respective plant.
  • Develops an in-depth knowledge of Zeus manufacturing and supply chain policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the execution of policy as it relates to operating/strategic plans.
  • Leads the development of new manufacturing and supply chain business rules and practices.
  • Maintains and ensures appropriate business controls for the material logistics operation.
  • Works with the global supply planning team to identify correct safety stocks for both finished goods and raw materials.
  • Will take a lead role in the development and enhancement of the use of Oracle ERP.
  • Tracks corporate supply chain KPIs and creates local KPIs when necessary to drive continuous improvement within the plant materials team
  • Executes the engineering change management plan for new product programs, as well as existing products at the local level.
  • Uses materials logistics I/T applications and ensures data integrity of logistics systems.
  • Direct management of the materials organization within the facility including all Inventory, Shipping, and scheduling personnel, including onboarding, training, performance management and ongoing development of team members.
  • Responsible for team's creation of effective plant production schedules. This includes:
  • Ensuring Zeus planning guidelines are followed
  • Partnering with plant production managers to ensure production schedules are optimized to shorten customer lead times while simultaneously being efficient for production teams to execute.
  • Tracking and driving progress on schedule adherence
  • Forecast facility late orders and develop action plans to minimize late orders
  • Forecast monthly plant revenue based on execution of effective facility schedule
  • Monitors the perpetual inventory system to ensure the highest degree of accuracy throughout the year, through physical audits, tracking and limiting production overruns, monthly cycle counts, and organizing packaging materials for optimum plant flow.
  • Ensures the standard life cycle of production jobs is followed including but not limited to the timelines of job creation, job planning, and job closing
  • Monitors and drives progress on identification and future prevention of areas where errors are likely and create risk of non-conforming products getting manufactured and or to customers.
  • Spends time weekly on the shop floor with materials and production teams to solve problems

Qualifications





  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field. MBA preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent planning skills and computer skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.

  • Prior supervisory/team leadership experience preferred

  • Oracle experience preferred

  • APICS-CPIM certification preferred

  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems

  • Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting

  • A sense of high urgency required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
