Job Description:

Under the direction of the Manager, Group Sales Operations, services National Accounts operations to include the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP), Federal Employee Plan (FEP), and other key accounts as assigned. This position is responsible for supporting the Senior National and Key Account Sales Consultant and group sales operations. The Specialist participates in the day-to-day operations of the SEHP, development of growth strategies related to the SEHP and FEP, maintains BlueCard contacts, assists with agent/broker appointments, and operations duties as assigned. This position assists in development of best practices and action plans designed to make sales operations processes more effective and efficient. Along with the Sr. National and Key Account Sales Consultant, facilitates off-site open enrollment and retention activities

Compensation




$60,800 - $72,000 annually

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.





What you'll do



  • Plans, organization, and coordination of all activities related to national and key accounts to produce a positive contribution to plan growth objectives.


  • Assists in preparation of proposals in response to Requests for Proposal.


  • Performs service and retention functions for Sr. National and Key Account Consultant's assigned accounts.


  • Develops sales aids and recommends improvement in sales materials where applicable.


  • Responds to group written inquiries, objections, complaints and concerns.


  • Manage daily communication and operational activities from the State of Kansas and other large groups as assigned.


  • Represents BCBSKS at external SEHP and FEP meetings, group employee benefit meetings, and health fairs as assigned.


  • Explain benefit options, regulations and laws associated with group sales and enrollment.


  • Manage SEHP monthly/weekly reports and weekly work plans.


  • Coordinates the timely development and distribution of SEHP open season materials.


  • Responsible for preparing quarterly State reports for Sr. Consultant.


  • Assist field personnel in understanding policies and procedures regarding National and Special Accounts and Agent/Broker appointments.


  • Assist in filing and recording agent appointments (both internal and external) to BCBSKS and its subsidiaries with the Kansas Insurance Department.


  • Assists with annual year-end agent/broker audit of appointments.


  • Assist in the completion and tracking of BCBSKS staff's Federally Facilitated Marketplace certification.


  • Oversee exceptions process, sending to management for approval or denial. Track processing and notify regions of outcome.


  • Responsible for Custom Benefit requests to include - Send, track and record all Custom Benefit requests. Assist with Sale & Renewal notifications.


  • Track weekly wins/losses for each region and send report to VP.


  • Aids in tracking, compiling and completing monthly goal report for each region.


  • Maintain sales aids and monitors effectiveness and use of existing materials.


  • Observe corporate compliance program.


  • Maintain confidentiality.


  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job functions as defined by policy.


  • Must be available, and on call, outside of normal business hours should the need arise.


  • Must comply with and implement corporate information security policies, standards, and guidelines relative to access control.


  • Must follow URAC standards as required for essential job functions.


  • Assists in staff training. Responsible for ongoing training for Internal Staff related to the SEHP, FEP and BlueCard guidelines.





What you need



  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or related field preferred. In lieu of degree, must have one-year sales operations or account management experience.


  • Required to sign a non-compete agreement


  • Requires a State of Kansas Insurance License within 60 days of hire.


  • Must have and maintain a valid Kansas Driving License.


  • Minimum of one-year sales operations experience preferably in insurance field.


  • Requires the ability to understand federally mandated laws, alternate funding arrangements, and rating practices.


  • Manage stakeholder relationships and fast-paced day-to-day communications.


  • Requires a high degree of professional persistence.


  • Possess a high degree of honesty, loyalty, integrity and confidentiality.


  • Acquire industry knowledge of insurance products, services and sales culture.


  • Able to effectively communicate complex concepts to customers.


  • Excellent customer service and follow up required.


  • Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Project management and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
