Job Description:

Position Title: Production Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Operations

Position Summary:

Federal Equipment Company has been a leading supplier for marine deck machinery and specialized weapons and material handling systems. The company, now part of Fairbanks Morse Defense, is rapidly growing and in need of a Production Coordinator. This position would directly support the scheduling and operations team in day-to-day activities to ensure work progresses on schedule and with high quality. FEC offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted defense contractor.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Establish priorities and expedite work efficiently.
  • Generate work orders and track manufacturing processes.
  • Release work to the floor and prevent delay in production and delivery.
  • Building work order traveler packets and coordinating appropriate sign offs.
  • Review material requirements and availability and adjust work order dates accordingly.
  • Schedule and maintain workflow through the manufacturing shop.
  • Maintain delivery schedule production.
  • Communicates schedule status for assigned projects during weekly production meetings.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation and support to all production operations.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all work orders issued are accurate.
  • Utilizes various tools to monitor for scheduling changes.
  • Manages the flow of all work orders requirements and are acceptable for release by Quality Department.
  • Reconciles manufacturing related inventory variances with Supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with QA procedures and the company's training program.
  • Adhere to company Malpractice & Ethics Policies.
  • Cross trains on various positions in the department.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are followed as stated on posted signs and in Company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Maintaining a professional attitude through oral and written communication.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to change tasks frequently.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Ability to pivot frequently as challenges come up and troubleshoot to overcome them.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Data entry, Excel).
  • Working experience in an ERP system.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact with suppliers and customers.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, particularly in the manufacturing and defense sectors, is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time if needed.

Note: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
