PDS Optical is a SDVOSB Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that manufactures a very large number of eyeglasses each day. We have Optical Laboratories in Louisville, KY and Fort Lauderdale, FL and manage many optical stores across the US and Puerto Rico. We are seeking an experienced Optician who is willing to travel to fill in for others on vacations or leave. This role will involve overnight stays and day-to-day travel across the United States. Travel expenses will be covered or reimbursed by the company.

Competitive pay range $18.00 - $30.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to different locations as needed to provide optician services.
• Fill in for other opticians during vacations or leaves of absence.
• Assist customers with selecting and fitting eyewear.
• Take accurate measurements and ensure proper alignment of eyeglasses.
• Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frame styles.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or questions.

Requirements:

• 2 years optical experience with the intent to get ABO in 12 months or less.
• Experience working as an optician, preferably in a retail setting.
• Willingness to travel across the United States.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on providing high-quality service.
