Current Need



We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of SAP Platforms to lead and manage a team of SAP Platform Architects, Engineers, DBAs,and multiple Managed Service Providers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP Architecture, Basis administration and Infrastructure management. This role will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and support of SAP systems, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners to drive the successful delivery of SAP solutions aligned with business objectives.This role is also key in modernizing our SAP platform providing a strategic vision enabling the architectural runway for delivering state of the art solutions for our business.



Key Responsibilities:






  • Leadership and Strategy:







  • Lead and manage a high-performing team of SAP Basisengineers, SAP Oracle and HANA DBAs and architects, providing guidance, mentorship, and career development.






  • Foster a collaborative work environment to encourage innovation, communication, and strong teamwork.






  • Promote continuous improvement by incorporating best practices, training, and talent development.






  • Manage Budgets and Forecasts related to SAP Platform operations.






  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for SAP Platforms aligning with the organization's IT and business goals.






  • Collaborate with IT leadership to define and implement SAP infrastructure strategies that support business growth and transformation that ensure long-term value.






  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the SAP landscape remains robust, secure, and innovative.






  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and key stakeholders on SAP transformation-related decisions.







  • SAP Platform management:







  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, SCM, BW, Solution Manager, etc.) across development, testing, and production environments.






  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability,and reliability of all SAP systems through effective monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.






  • Manage SAP upgrades, patches, and enhancements, coordinating with functional teams and minimizing downtime.






  • Create and maintain a Data Volume Management Practice for SAP Solutions.






  • Identification and execution of Continuous improvement opportunities within the SAP platform ecosystem.






  • Create and Maintain partnerships with multiple Managed Service Providers providing services in the SAP Platform ecosystem.






  • Oversee and manage SAP licenses, subscriptions, contracts, and vendor relationships.







  • Project Management:







  • Lead and manage SAP Platform projects, including system migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.






  • Work closely with project managers, functional teams, and external vendors to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.






  • Provide technical leadership and expertise if needed in troubleshooting and resolving complex SAP issues.







  • Collaboration and Communication:







  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into SAP infrastructure requirements.






  • Collaborate with the SAP application team to ensure seamless integration between SAP Platform and other SAP modules.






  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing regular updates on the status of SAP systems and projects.







  • Risk Management and Compliance:







  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of SAP systems.






  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of SAP environments to identify and mitigate risks.






  • Manage disaster recovery planning and execution for SAP systems, ensuring business continuity.





Minimum Requirement



Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience)



Critical Skills
:





  • Minimum of 13 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with at least 6 years in a leadership role.






  • Deep understanding of SAP architecture, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, HANA,and other SAP components.






  • Proven experience managing large-scale SAP environments and leading complex SAP projects.






  • Experience with cloud-based SAP solutions and hybrid environments.






  • Knowledge of reference architectures of SAP on Azure and other hyperscale's.






  • Strong Knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and risk management related to SAP Platforms






  • Experience with talent and performance management.






  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.






  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.






  • Financial Acumen to manage Project and Operations related financials and ability to conduct cost benefit analysis for efficiencies and cost optimization and avoidance strategies.





Additional knowledge & Skills:





  • Experience in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.






  • PMP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are a plus.





Education





  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Our Base Pay Range for this position



$172,100 - $286,800
