Supports cost reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and administrative cost controllership for the Company. Provides management with technical reporting, in depth financial analysis, consulting support and resolution of issues for cost accounting, reporting and compliance related to the Companies manufacturing operations.

The cost accountant position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. Hybrid work schedule, 2 days a week at Andrews, SC headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for timely and accurate completion of periodic cost reporting, compliant with US GAAP. Performs controllership, financial analysis and variance reporting of manufacturing expenses. Prepares assigned cost reporting and analysis. Supports periodic closing process.Serves as subject matter expert on cost accounting.Supports the development, reporting and analysis of manufacturing expenses, annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Develops and maintains related financial planning models and prepares schedules and adjustments for assigned expense and functional categories. Adheres to Corporate Planning to meet planning objectives and established deadlines.Conducts financial analysis using business and financial modeling, supports development of leadership reporting material and provides business insight into drivers of variances for assigned administrative expense categories and functional areas.Supports audit activities and ensures timely preparation of accurate and complete audit materials.Partners with auditing and financial planning and analysis, and maintain key controls, reporting structures, business rules and reports.Performs ad-hoc analysis and serves as subject matter expert for projects.Continuously improves processes, develops efficiencies, and collaborates to resolve issues.Develop and maintain system to apply direct labor, indirect labor, and factory overhead to manufactured partsDevelop, with the assistance of operations, a standard costing system including time studies as needed fine tune standards as agreed with managementWork with production operations to develop costing standards and review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and variancesRearrange product groups and work closely with management to develop product line related financial data.Development and maintain system for work center and related reporting for operationsValidate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end closeDetermine costing rates for the various work centers at various levels of productionUpdate applied overhead rates appropriately based on production forecast.Assist quoting team with appropriateAssist with the mapping of ERP costing functionsReview and post work orders as neededPost packing slips as neededAssist with job costing as needed
