McClure Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant join our growing team. The right candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong self-management, problem solving, and analytical skills. We are looking for someone with 2 to 4 years of public accounting or industry experience, preferably in a Professional Services environment, and who is willing to perform the required duties in a professional and productive manner within a team environment.
The Opportunity
Assist with the preparation of journal entries for monthly close Prepare reconciliations to be reviewed by management Own the companys payroll processing as well as year-end payroll reporting Own Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing Own Billing process, ensuring accurate invoicing and delivery to clients by partnering with Principals and Project Managers Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements Assist with deliverables to external accounting firms for the companys 401k audit, financial statement review and tax return Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy Assist with various analysis as directed by the Financial Controller and CFO. Assist with project accounting and analysis Some clerical tasks to be expected as this is a growing organization
The required Capabilities and Credentials
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA, CMA or MBA a plus Notary designation a plus Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards Proficiency in accounting software (Deltek Vantagepoint preferred, but not required) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
