Position Overview


The Marking Internship is designed to provide on-the-job learning experiences for students studying a career in Public Relations or Visual Communication. The intern will play an integral role content creation, with responsibilities that will significantly contribute to the success of company's visual communication and marketing efforts.




Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)



The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video/photo) content for internal company events, social media channels, product marketing, recruiting efforts, and other projects as needed.
  • Assist in the final preparation for marketing materials including proofreading, editing, and posting on sites.
  • Support project/tradeshow/community outreach coordination.
  • Assist in social media efforts by posting updates and contributing ideas, photos, and videos.
  • Assist with administrative duties as needed.
  • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.



Other Requirements:




  • Experience with Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram required, graphic design skills are a bonus!
  • Some experience in basic video production
  • Experience with Premiere Pro preferred
  • Experience using a DSLR camera to create high-quality photos preferred
  • Basic understanding of marketing/communication tools and techniques
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team
  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures
  • Strict adherence to Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.
  • Flexibility and willingness to step in and provide hands-on assistance to team members as needed
  • Timely and regular attendance
  • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.




Qualifications



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


Education and Experience

Working towards a degree in Visual Communication, Public Relations, or similar degree plan from an accredited college or university.


Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to drive long distances to recruiting events.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.



Work Environment
  • Standard office environment.

  • Tempo is fast-paced with deadlines.
  • The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be moderate.
