Job Description:

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer - Americas, creates, supports, and sustains manufacturing systems data, machine data, and routings for the manufacturing of our products. This entry level role will be responsible for analyzing, developing, creating, testing, and implementing process and manufacturing master data changes to enhance the performance of our BAC manufacturing facilities. This person communicates across multiple levels ranging from business functional leaders to equipment OEMs and software/system developers. This position is also expected to create robust documentation and workflow in order to enable knowledge sharing and cross-training.

This position is a hybrid of project and system technical work, requiring coordination of people, projects, and completion of a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision, using a wide variety of skills. Work shall be done independently and as part of project teams. This position's key partners are the Regional Product, Process, Technology, and Systems Engineers along with the Manufacturing Engineers in the plants. Key stakeholders will include the Global Manufacturing team and any associated peers from other regions.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Create CAM/NC programs for parts and tool path requirements for sheet metal, pipe, and other materials.

  • Create/Maintain Manufacturing Master Data and Routings in an ERP System (SAP).

  • Ability to recognize and recommend possible solutions for potential CAD/CAM program issues. Knows the degree of care and accuracy required of assignments and detects or corrects own errors as well as errors of others.

  • Provide programming and part routing support to BAC manufacturing facilities on a day-to-day basis.

  • Work on material routing and program updates required from process and product changes, which involve replacement or redesigning routing times and/or operation sequences, program improvements, scrap reduction, and manufacturing support.

  • Understanding the data flow for establishing and updating NC programs within the ERP system (SAP).

  • Resolve routing changes requests on BAC materials.

  • Travel periodically to BAC manufacturing facilities or jobsites to investigate and resolve programming and/or routing issues.

  • Provide technical support for Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence departments.


    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Information/Operational Technology, or a relevant field required.

    • 3 years minimum programming experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.

    • Strong CAD / CAM programming skills in related work environment.

    • Demonstrated experience in functional aspects of ERP/MRP

    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.

    • Preferred Experience: Inventor, Radan, BySoft, SAP, Highly Variable product designs, Sheet Metal, and SharePoint.

    • Complex and versatile programming knowledge for different languages and hardware uses.

    • Willingness to take on non-traditional tasks, roles, responsibilities, and challenges needed to accomplish goals and objectives.
