Main Objective:

The Technical Operations Analyst position works directly with business departments within Arthrex Manufacturing to build and manage the advancement of plant connectivity. The position focuses on collaboration with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to define business needs and integration capability for new and existing equipment. Will serve as a driver for implementing and improving capability to further Arthrex manufacturing capability through technical expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Drive development of requirements for equipment connectivity and data needs to support Operations and Quality efforts.

  • Work with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to define requirements and capability for existing and new equipment, including technical specifications for modifications and new orders.

  • Provide technical expertise in network and/or control systems integration to support design, implementation, and supporting equipment integration.

  • Participate in application configuration, analysis, management, and maintenance in a manufacturing environment, including (where applicable):

    • Issue resolution, patching, and performance monitoring.

    • Reliability, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

    • Monitor system logs for unusual activity and escalate or make recommendations for resolution.

    • Participate in infrastructure projects to provide application specifications and requirements, as well as operational, run book, and capacity planning information.



  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity from connected devices

  • Experience with cross-functional efforts and technical execution of networking/infrastructure and/or controls systems.

  • Respond, resolve, or escalate reported incidents.

  • Ensure stability, integration, and integrity of manufacturing related production systems.

  • Responsible for coordinating manufacturing related application needs from back-end platforms through user interface.

  • Partner with Information Technology to support integration of equipment to meet Manufacturing System business requirements and coordinate with Information Security to ensure systems are safe.

  • Solution, Implement, and Support software applications that support manufacturing operations and quality. Partner with Information Technology to ensure robust infrastructure for maximizing uptime of applications.

  • Develop system functional requirements to meet business needs in manufacturing operations in order to evaluate, select, implement, and support applications in the manufacturing facilities.

  • Develop capability and support run state of historizing data.

  • Develop and support completion of technical specifications to capture configuration and design.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Up to 20% travel or as required

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

  • 2 + years of relevant work experience required

  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment preferred

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and create system specifications.

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

  • Basic knowledge in network infrastructure.
    Database design concepts and query methods.

  • Installing and troubleshooting software.


  • General knowledge of controls systems and shop floor integration concepts.

  • Contribute to action plans for obtaining operational objectives.

  • Ability to train user bases on system functionality.

  • Software Development Life Cycle approaches.

  • Identifying and documenting business and functional requirements.

  • Create and maintain application operational and instructional documentation as necessary.

  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 on-call coverage support.

  • Monitor, record, investigate, and diagnose system faults and errors aimed to resolve technical issues and respond to requests for support.

Specialized Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.

  • Experience working in projects where multiple functions work in a matrix structure is a plus.

  • Experience with network infrastructure configuration and technology.

  • Database design experience

  • Experience with SCADA system support and configuration of plant floor systems
