Summary Description:
The Communities of Solutions (CoS) Coordinator plays a critical role as a program officer, subject matter expert, organizational/coalition coach, and internal advocate to support the development and implementation of community-driven health equity strategies through Prosperemos Juntos | Thriving Together (PJTT). This position works closely with other members of the CoS Team and an interdepartmental team to accompany coalitions in learning, failing forward, and ultimately addressing root causes of poor health.
Essential Duties:
Hourly rate begins at $26.67. Mid range at $33.34. Actual starting rate will be commensurate with experience and education

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma/GED required and a minimum of 5 years working in a community outreach or community organizing capacity required. In lieu of experience, a bachelor's degree in social/behavioral sciences, public health, or related field and 3 years working in a community outreach or community organizing capacity experience required. Advanced conceptual, analytical, change management, and organizational skills. Superior relationship development and influential skills and ability to engage both internal and external constituencies.
An understanding of community development models, especially Asset Based Community Development preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a timely fashion. Excellent interpersonal skills, community building skills, public speaking skills, and conflict mediation skills.
This position requires the ability and experience to interact comfortably and professionally with MHM board members and team members including senior leaders, as well as with senior-level team members of other organizations across sectors including grassroots organizations as well as with community leaders and community members, and patients and clients.
Experience working with underserved populations and with specifically addressing disparities that impact health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities is required. Experience with the nonprofit sector and nonprofit business models preferred.

Language Skills:
Strong verbal, organizational and written communication skills. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare presentations and documents that conform to prescribed style and format. Must be able to speak effectively and respond to questions before groups of customers, community members, leaders, or employees of an organization (diverse audiences). Must be fluent in English; Spanish bilingual is preferred.
Reasoning Ability:
Need to understand processes and work creatively with very different kinds of stakeholders to build consensus. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:
Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to customize toolbars, import and insert graphs, embed Excel data, etc. Ability to work, communicate, and collaborate in virtual settings through Zoom and MS Teams.
