Our client in Orange, CA is seeking an ambitious and curious Accounting Manager to join their team and take on mid to high-level accounting responsibilities.
Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, cash management, tax administration and oversee/supervise the accounting team. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong Excel skills and a genuine desire to learn and grow in their accounting career.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage full-cycle accounting in compliance with GAAP, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Supervise and mentor a team of 2 accountants, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Utilize Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Maintain and improve accounting processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with other departments to provide insights that support business decisions.
Stay updated on industry best practices and accounting regulations.
Tax Administration: Process quarterly payments of federal and state income taxes.
Ad hoc projects as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in private accounting (public accounting/auditing experience is a plus).
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills are required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Experience managing or supervising a small team is preferred.
A thirst for knowledge and a willingness to learn and grow in the accounting field.
