The Production Technician I is responsible for unpacking, labeling, testing, calibrating, and repacking instrumentation according to the production schedule. This role ensures accurate record-keeping, validates new product procedures, and supports engineering changes. The technician will also assist with maintaining a clean and compliant production environment and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, test, label, and package instrumentation products.
Verify that production products contain the correct components and quantities.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of tested instruments.
Ensure production areas comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks on instruments following SOP guidelines.
Validate new products and engineering changes as part of forward-production initiatives.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions, including software logs and hardware failures, to management.
Maintain a safe and clean workspace by properly disposing of hazardous materials and waste.
Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing production areas.
Manage waste disposal, including recycling and trash, in compliance with company procedures.
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently when required.
Accurately log work hours, including overtime, holidays, sick leave, and personal time, for payroll purposes.
Assist in training new personnel and temporary staff as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Associate's degree in Science or Electronics Technology, or 2+ years of relevant experience with electronic instrumentation.
Ability to troubleshoot production-related errors and issues.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Capable of identifying problems, gathering data, and drawing valid conclusions.
Proficiency in using company email systems.
Team-oriented with the ability to contribute to and support a collaborative environment.
