Job Description:

Job Summary:


The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing the front office and serving as the initial point of contact for congregants, visitors, vendors, and staff. This role involves office upkeep, assisting with communications, and helping with event preparations.


Principal Duties:


Emailing notices and announcements as directed.


Handling deliveries (food, packages, etc.).


Distributing mail.


Preparing for Shabbat and special weekend events.


Compiling bulletins and preparing materials for services.


Answering the door and phone, attending to visitor needs.


Preparing monthly notices, labels, and donation letters.


Managing inventory and ordering office/kitchen supplies.


Maintaining office equipment.


Ensuring office cleanliness and appearance.


Assisting in maintaining membership records and files (both online and hard copy).


Providing material for a weekly newsletter, including announcements.


Sending updated membership rosters to the mail house.


Assisting with logistics and material preparation during busy holiday times.


Qualifications:


A successful candidate will be able to:


Work collaboratively with members and staff.


Demonstrate computer literacy and competence with office software and social media.


Exhibit excellent communication skills through various means.


Show strong organizational and multitasking abilities.


Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.


Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant office or administrative experience preferred.


Additional Information:


Pay: $21-$23 per hour


Hours: 40 hours per week - 9-5:30 or 6:00


Location: Olney, MD
