DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide support for Austal-led technical qualification and approval activities for suppliers.
Conduct market research and supplier sourcing.
Support development of statements of work and/or quality requirements to suppliers.
Conduct and attend meetings with suppliers and other stakeholders.
Support suppliers in preparation for site surveys (audits) and track progress, address roadblocks and identify pathways for remediation.
Conduct and attend supplier site surveys (audits).
Complete site survey reports and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
Monitor and assist suppliers in completion of corrective actions as necessary.
Maintain daily communication with the Supply Manager, Quality Manager and other stakeholders to report status, concerns and issues and provide support with variance analysis and associated corrective action plans.
Monitor and validate lessons learned processes and initiatives to maintain and promote continuous improvement.
Travel expectation: Up to two (2) trips per month for 2 to 4 days each (approximate).
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree with at least 4 years' experience with supplier quality and/or supplier auditing and approval, or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years' related experience accepted in lieu of experience requirement noted above.
Related experience is defined as having experience with Electric Boat, Newport News, and/or Naval Reactors supplier quality programs.
General understanding of quality system requirements (ISO 9001, NAVSEA 009-004), with ISO auditing certification preferred.
Experience in SUBSAFE quality program preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to validate, interpret and understand basic task scheduling or work sequencing.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Experience in Microsoft Project or other project management software.
Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
