A day in the life



Our Real Estate Accounting team is responsible for the external reporting of our reporting portfolios (operating, development, land and energy) and capital deployment activities for Prologis, a large multi-billion dollar global Real Estate Investment Trust listed on the S&P 500. As a Manager on the Real Estate Accounting team, you will manage energy asset reporting globally and have responsibilities around processes to track energy assets, reconcile energy specific accounts and develop best practices with our energy business. In addition, this role may be involved with other areas of real estate accounting, such as evaluating process improvements and other ad-hoc real estate projects. You will be given the opportunity to interact with various internal teams and should have a strong background in analytics, data analysis, great eye for detail, and a strong commitment to process improvement. The ideal candidate will be a go-getter with a mentality to challenge the norms and embrace change.



Key responsibilities include:



  • Lead timely and accurate accounting, analysis and global reporting of energy activities

  • Creation of processes to track key reporting metrics for energy activities for internal/external reporting and processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting of energy transactions

  • Manage and develop direct report, which includes review of the work performed, training, and leading the team through multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently

  • Review energy reconciliations and work with energy business on efficient processes to complete

  • Review current forecasted investment (CFI) for energy projects and manage the stabilized development review process



  • Be an exceptional business partner to various departments and the global accounting team to facilitate reporting, analysis, and ad hoc requests in your assigned financial statement areas.

  • Drive automated global processes and data-driven analysis by effectively utilizing PeopleSoft, SIGMA, Excel, RPA and other software tools

  • Review and analyze supplemental, 10Q/K, and internal management reports related to your assigned financial statement areas

  • Support our internal and external auditors, including the coordination of requests and the flow of information and documentation

  • Partner with FP&A to develop forecasts for Energy and other items quarterly

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned




Building blocks for success




Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required from four-year college or university

  • 5+ years experience (public accounting experience strongly preferred)

  • At least two years of management and relevant energy industry experience (renewable or utility experience) required

  • Strong understanding of relevant US GAAP

  • Ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple tasks and reporting deadlines under pressure and produce a quality work product

  • Proven leadership skills with a desire to develop and grow team members

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across multiple functional and business groups (oral and written)

  • Demonstrated robust analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • High level of detail orientation and accuracy

  • Strong initiative/demonstrates leadership in meetings and group events

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate processes and identify and implement process enhancements

  • Strong aptitude for systems and technology that includes advanced proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of general ledger systems and reporting tools. PeopleSoft and SIGMA preferred.

  • Positive, proactive work ethic and approach



Hiring Salary Range of: $120,000 - $146,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
