Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Global Maintenance & Reliability, the Manager, Global Engineering Systems develops, implements, integrates and manages the information systems and associated tools that support the key global systems supporting the engineering function. These include but are not limited to Hexagon EAM(CMMS), Engineering Drawing / Document Management, Sharepoint/Teams (project archives), AutoCAD, etc. This position provides the critical data needed to track Key Performance Indicators and analyze team performance, comparing against targets and benchmarks.

This position establishes, maintains and ensures consistent application of Engineering processes and procedures to support all engineering functions including, but not limited to, the following: Asset Management, Work Management, Preventive Maintenance, Calibrations, Materials Management, Labor Records, Task and Procedures Management, Parts and Equipment Purchasing, Documentation Libraries, etc. in an FDA regulated environment.

The Manager, Global Engineering Systems will work in a highly matrixed organization, and will liaise routinely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, OpEx, Purchasing, Legal and Finance as required to ensure stakeholder alignment.

Active travel to facilities will be necessary.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

System Administration:


  • Implement and validate system updates.
  • Set levels of access and develop an information security strategy for the systems.
  • Serve as the access control official for the key systems.
  • Set up and assist in designing data reports.
  • Coordinate input of personnel information into engineering systems for each site.
  • Coordinate Input and maintenance of engineering master data.

Work Management

  • Management of key engineering systems. This includes entering or supervising the entry of transaction data and providing the required reports to management and maintenance.
  • Define database structure and standard implementation parameters for global EAM system.
  • Track asset downtime, labor and parts costs at the global level for all sites.
  • Chart planned vs. unplanned repairs.
  • Chart unplanned downtime and Quality defects due to equipment breakdowns.
  • Create and maintain reporting tool for monthly Key Performance Indicators (Scorecard Reporting) and conduct analysis against targets and benchmarks.
  • Monitor / audit site compliance with global processes and procedures.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Support site CMMS staff and maintenance planners with:

    • Establish time base / usage based triggers
    • Sequence PMs (monthly, quarterly, annually)
    • Optimized PMs and Task Instructions.


Material Management

  • Total inventory management
  • Develop and implement cycle count process and cycle count accuracy KPI.
  • Track parts by a unique item number.
  • Maintain list of primary vendors with contact information
  • Determine repair / PM costs per site / equipment train.
  • Help to establish minimum / maximum reorder points for spare parts inventory.
  • Develop, implement and maintain global spare parts taxonomy.

Labor Records

  • Track and report labor costs for all assets
  • Track and report contractor based cost for all assets

Tasks / Procedure Management

  • Establish and define global procedures and business process work flows for all users.
  • Develop standards for engineering systems specifications, usage, and maintenance.
  • Train New personnel on the engineering systems.

System Software and Hardware Management / Upgrades

  • Interface with organizational resources and software.
  • Interface with plant automation and reporting systems.
  • Interface with customer management and information systems.
  • Ad-hoc reporting, developing reports and analysis data to support management /organizational decisions.
  • Create and maintain Dashboard Tracker to timely and accurately track, manage, and report on key metrics.
  • Integrate CAD, GMP, and non-GMP documentation with EAM system.

Additional Requirements

  • Assist with the management of budget, expenses and P&L responsibilities effectively.
  • Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems (Hexagon EAM preferred)
  • Ability to manage document repositories.
  • Understanding of critical drawing management process
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to focus on the project or task at hand and consistently deliver error free results.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others.
  • Must be customer service oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to write reports, investigations, and standard operating procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree in technical discipline required; BS preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a comparable CMMS / System Administrator role is highly preferred.
  • Experience implementing RCM and TPM maintenance approaches.
  • Experience implementing and managing CMMS systems (Hexagon EAM, Maximo, BMRAM, etc.)
  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Mechanical systems knowledge - HVAC, fluid flow, boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, conveyance systems, etc.
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Operational Excellence experience: 6S, Six Sigma, SMED, RCA, etc.
  • Familiar with P&IDs
  • French and/or Spanish as a second language is advantageous
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
