The objective of the MEP Project Engineer is to assist in the efforts in coordinating and managing the MEP trades on major construction projects. This candidate will work with project team to ensure successful completion of all MEP trade work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project planning, scheduling, and coordination with PM
Project forecasting and management of field personnel
Scope of work to oversee - ~$3.6mil electrical subcontractor including new Con Edison electrical services coordination and instrumentation work, ~$2.5mil plumbing subcontractor including water supply, drainage, and sewer work, ~$600k instrumentation supply vendor including NYC DEP telemetry controls, ~$3.5mil hydraulic/electric sewer gate supplier with self-performed installation (one large 6' x 8' hydraulic operated swing gate that will shut-off the lower Manhattan sewer system) Previous project experience - NYC City Agency construction experience is a must, preferably experience with NYC DEP work
Document control management (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
Field Safety management
Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks
Coordinate and manage subcontractors' work
Track daily construction progress
Resolve problems involving field conditions, safe accessibility, and capabilities of involved field staff
Deliver project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule
Assist project management with field related administrative operations
Cost control on projects and quality control within the discipline
Plan, design, and construction phases of projects
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years professional experience in construction
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
Ability to prioritize, develop, and maintain project schedules
