Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific has awarded Dragados JV a $2.8 billion task order - under an $8 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), multiple-award construction contract awarded in November 2021 to Dragados JV to replace a dry dock at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility at Joint Base Pearl Harbor.
Construction managers oversee the building process, labor force, equipment, and materials, while project managers plan, schedule, allocate resources, and manage risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Foster a positive and safe leadership on the project.
Coordinate daily/weekly meeting with all the area superintendents and project engineer to develop means and methods, schedule contracting needs and long lead delivery times
Manage all field operations and work sequence in conjunction with the Segment manager
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
Review project estimate or plan to determine schedule, estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
Modify schedules and report project status to management, owners, and subcontractors.
Understand project documents (i.e. completeness or inadequacies)
Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay of production
Oversee coordination with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
Review status and modify schedules or plans as required and prepares project reports for management, owners, and subcontractors
Work closely with Company employees, project supervisors, owners, external teams and support people to get commitments regarding PM's managerial and supervisory requests
Coordinate resource use with project superintendent; for example, craft assignment, crew sizes and project layout for offices, traffic flow, and material storage
Responsible for claims documentation and subcontractor agreements
Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, work closely with Human Resources in recruitment efforts as necessary
Coordinate material purchases, assure that subcontractor agreements are prepared and change orders are accurate and issued to owners, subcontractors and suppliers
Responsible for project closeout
Secure loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claims
Perform additional assignments per management's direction
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred
15+ years of project management experience
15+ years of heavy civil construction experience
Experience with large $Billion projects
Extensive Experience with form footings, abutments, falsework, bridge stems, etc.
Design/Build project experience preferred
Demonstrate clear logical written, verbal, and communication and presentation skills
Excellent Interpersonal skills to cooperate and work as a team
Ability to manage conflict smoothly and unemotionally
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge with Primavera P6 Scheduling Software is a plus
