JOB SUMMARY: Performs various duties, such as cleaning and maintaining the clinic. The primary responsibility of the Environmental Services Supervisor is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Environment Services Supervisor provides direction, training, and schedule coordination for a group of Environmental Services Technicians. The Environmental Services Supervisor performs the duties of an Environmental Services Technician and cleans offices, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas, patient service areas, and any other area that may need attention.
Position Hours: 3:00 pm-11:30 pm
This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands, and mental competencies of this job require the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
Assists in the hiring process; interview, hiring, conduct performance evaluations. and training of new associates.
Review and evaluate the work performance of assigned personnel. Make recommendations to the director.
Counsel/discipline assigned personnel as requested or as necessary. Report such actions to the director.
Prepares work schedules and conducts daily operational processes.
Responsible for training and supervising all personnel.
Assist in Prepares budgets, work reports, and other administrative guides.
Assist in coordination of outside services (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical and Solid Waste, Document Destruction, and Recycling program)
Manage performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action.
Ensures proper staffing is scheduled and /or available to perform daily activities in areas of responsibility. Develops and posts employees schedules according to department policy. Coordinates and oversee the daily and weekly activities/tasks are performed by staff in areas of responsibility. Updates and communicates job-flow changes of positions in areas of responsibility.
Orders supplies for department needs and monitors expenditures to maximize the use of resources in all department activities with the Director approval.
Contributes to team efforts; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow team members and others.
Handles non-routine/complex situations regarding department tasks.
Trains new Environmental Services team members.
Monitors and oversees assigned areas to ensure assignments are being completed within a timely manner.
Reports areas of concern to Director.
Inspects and maintains equipment daily to ensure proper usage
Cleans light fixtures, ceiling and vents, walls, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets, restroom fixtures, nurses stations, patient service areas, business offices, front lobby areas, and waiting room areas.
Disposes of trash according to prescribed guidelines.
Replenishes paper and plastic products.
Moves furniture, supplies and equipment.
Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
Pushes/pulls cleaning cart or flatbed and carries buckets.
Operates equipment such as vacuum cleaner.
Maintains equipment and wears protective clothing as required by the work environment or safety regulations.
Communicate daily with applicable CARTI staff on cleaning and scheduling.
Complete Daily Task Sheet.
Responds to guest queries and requests.
Some travel to clinics for general cleaning as requested by management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have reliable source of transportation.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION:
High school diploma or G.E.D. (required)
Current valid Arkansas Driver's License
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Minimum of one year housekeeping experience required; preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role within an Environmental Services department (Required).
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
This position also may require frequent pushing and pulling of heavy objects and the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
