JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Shipping & Receiving I under general supervision, you will be responsible for but not reviewing customer orders and shipping schedule to ensure availability of units for timely delivery.

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is based in Covington, TN*.



Major Accountability:


• Review customer orders and shipping schedule to ensure availability of units for timely delivery.
• Cycle counting.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Perform duties in accordance with current Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and Welbilt Code of Conduct requirements.
• Utilize hand trucks, hoists, and other material handling equipment to move materials and products as needed for production, shipping, or waste management.
• Operate hand tools (including but not limited to electrical and pneumatic powered tools)
• Construct shipping containers, prepare product for shipment, and crate and/or band product as required.
• Inspect product to insure conformance to quality, engineering standards, and customer requirements.
• Complete and maintain accurate electronic processes and paperwork (including but not limited to checklists, stamping, blueprints, bar coding, and shipping/receiving systems)
• Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Actively participate in safety training and demonstrate competency by effectively resolving safety issues or bringing them to the attention of management.

Qualifications




Skills and Abilities:

• Basic Microsoft Skills (Office, Word, and Excel)
• Ability to multi-task in a highly paced environment
• Knowledge of shipping standards for truck freight



Working Conditions:

• Standing and walking on concrete up to 100% of work day.
• Lift and carry up to 35 lbs. alone and over 35 lbs. with assistance.
• Wear all the required personal protective equipment.
• Work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
• Ability to work over 40 hours as required
