High Concrete Group is currently searching for an Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2025, this is a Monday - Friday 1st shift summer internship. The Intern will support Engineering staff and gain hands-on and resume-building experience in their field.


The Engineering Intern will assist the Engineering team in a variety of projects and will have an opportunity gain multifaceted experience in the engineering department. These areas include, but are not limited to, design, drafting, checking. The Intern will also be involved in various production activities and will learn the daily activities of a precast production facility. Throughout the internship you will work across multiple functions to learn the inter-workings of the department.


This is a paid internship. Located at High Concrete in Denver, PA


Responsibilities



  • Assist Engineers with design, drafting and checking

  • Involvement in production activities with opportunities to learn about precast production 

  • Utilize verbal and written communication skills to support the Engineering team

  • Work on value-added assignments on real structural and architectural precast design projects.

  • Visit High Concrete Group fabrication areas, production facilities, and active construction site to observe precast panels being erected  

  • Become familiar with the contract drawings, specifications and bid documents of the assigned projects taking particular note of exceptions to drawings and specifications in our contract.

  • Participate in committees (standards, continuous improvement, etc.)

  • Assist Design Team Leaders, Architectural Designers and Piece Detailers with organizing project information and details.   

  • Become familiar with and utilize engineering/ drafting software/hardware

  • Maintain a weekly record of time utilization.

  • Receive guidance and training from upper management.


Requirements



  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher 

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications; such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Previous experience in a trades, construction or manufacturing environment preferred but not required

  • Strong ability to jump in and participate in a team environment 

  • Attention to detail, flexibility and good communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential


Important Details:



  • This position reports to the Design Team Leader.

  • You will work in a professional office environment. Your desk will be near a window with plenty of natural light

  • Limited travel for special events or community involvement

  • You may be asked to participate in a case study or take an assessment

  • Interviews are held in-person, onsite in Denver, PA
